It gives me profound pleasure to know that the Human Resource Development Department, Government of Sikkim has launched a web portal of its own as www.sikkimhrdd.org The effort is worth appreciating and in the long run would serve many G2G and G2C related purposes. The Government of Sikkim under the able guidance of Dr. Pawan Chamling, Hon'ble Chief Minister has been giving constant support in all development works including Information Technology. In the last 6 years various E-Governance Projects have been taken up by the Government which have been successfully implemented thereby bridging the digital divide.

I have been informed that this web portal has incorporated many useful information and features pertaining to the Department like School details, manpower details, forms downloading facility, information RTI, content sourcing, result announcement, web casting etc. I sincerely hope that this effort of the Department would bring about accountability, transparency, responsiveness, effectiveness, efficiency and improve the quality of work amongst the work force.

The Human Resource Development Department has taken up many IT projects in the past also like Computer aided learning schemes in the schools, Single Window Education Management Information System (SWEMIS), setting up LAN within the Department etc. I must say that the launching of this web portal is a big IT initiative and would help immensely in proper management and administration of the Department.

Lastly, I would like to appeal to all the officials and staff of the Department to make proper use of all the Information and Communication Tools (ICT) which we have in hand such as this, for delivering better services to the citizens and Department employees. I also would like to extend my heartiest congratulations to the whole team involved in developing the web portal.
